A thirty-nine year-old male is facing charges after a weekend break in at a business in the 700 Block of Broad Street.
Police were called shortly after 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2022 for a report of a theft in progress. The caller stated that he was observing a male suspect attempting to steal a muffler from one of the vehicles in the parking lot before he disappeared from the caller’s view. Patrol officers and members of the Canine Unit arrived and began to track the suspect. A short time later the canine team located the suspect in the locked compound of another business nearby. The suspect was taken into custody and was found to be in possession of stolen property and a weapon. He is now facing a number of charges.
Thirty-nine year-old Jeremy BENS of Regina is charged with:
- Break and Enter [348(1)(B) CC]
- Fail to Comply With Probation Order [733.1(1)CC]
- Carrying a Concealed Weapon [90 CC]
BENS will make his first appearance on these charges in Regina Provincial Court on July 5, 2022 at 9:30 a.m.
