Two adult females are facing charges after an altercation early last evening, May 19th, 2022. Police were dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of Garnet Street shortly after 5:00 p.m., for a report of an injured female. When they arrived, they found an adult female on the front lawn with significant injuries to her hand.
Inside the residence they located the suspect, a second adult female – as well as a large, bladed weapon believed to have been used in the altercation. They also located a firearm in a backpack, belonging to the injured female.
Both females were arrested. The injured female was taken to hospital for treatment and the second female was taken into custody.
As a result of this investigation:
Twenty-three year-old Sarah Corin HUSNIK of Regina is charged with:
- Aggravated Assault [268(1) CC];
- Careless Use of a Weapon [86(1) CC];
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm [91(1) CC]; and
- Resist Arrest [129(A) CC].
Thirty-eight year-old Kristin Jane BLACKETT of Regina is charged with:
- Careless Use of a Firearm [86(1) CC];
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm [91(1) CC]; and
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order [733.1(1) CC].
HUSNIK appeared on these charges in Regina Provincial Court this morning, May 20, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. BLACKETT will appear on her charges in Regina Provincial Court on July 6, 2022.
