A 47 year-old female has been charged in connection with an October 2021, fatal motor vehicle/pedestrian collision. The deceased victim is a 70-year-old Regina male.
This investigation began on Thursday, October 21, 2021, when police were dispatched to Rochdale Boulevard and Cedar Meadow Drive, for the report of a hit-and-run collision involving a pedestrian. When police arrived, they found the victim lying on the ground. He was taken to hospital by EMS. Preliminary investigation indicated the 70 year-old male was crossing northbound on Rochdale Boulevard from the south sidewalk on Cedar Meadow Drive. An SUV, eastbound from Cedar Meadow Drive, turned left onto Rochdale Boulevard, striking the male. The SUV continued eastbound without stopping. Later in the same day, at approximately 6:00 p.m., police were notified that the victim of the collision had passed away in hospital. Police located and seized the vehicle as part of this comprehensive investigation. On May 11, 2022, the alleged driver of the SUV was arrested without incident and charged.
Forty-seven year-old Sjaane Adrienne McMURCHIE, of Regina, is charged with Failure to Stop after an Accident that results in Death, section 320.16(3) CC. McMURCHIE made her first court appearance on this charge in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. today: Thursday, May 12, 2022.
