The Regina Police Service is advising the Regina public of police training which will take place in the City today, Thursday, May 5, 2022. This is part of necessary training for members of the Service’s Emergency Teams, in this case: members of the Special Weapons and Tactics, or SWAT, team.
This training will take place between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at Mosaic Stadium, with the permission, and cooperation, of the Regina Exhibition Association Limited, or REAL. Members of the public will not notice that anything looks different around the stadium, but there may be loud noises through the day, including what sounds like gun fire. Safety is always the top priority in any training. Staff at Mosaic Stadium are aware of the training and will not be at risk, nor will there be any risk to members of the public, or police. There will be signage posted during the training.
This training will not impact any other events scheduled for May 5th at Mosaic Stadium. If anyone has questions or concerns, they are invited to contact the Regina Police Service at 306-777-6500. The Regina Police Service thanks REAL, and members of the public and media for their support and cooperation.
