The Regina Police Service is asking the public for any information that could help in an investigation into apparent gunshots overnight. There was no one injured in this incident.
Just minutes after midnight on Friday, April 29, 2022, police were dispatched to the 700 block of Rae Street for a report of a weapons offence, involving a firearm. Officers learned that a person in that area had heard what sounded like up to six gunshots. The Communications Centre also received a call from another resident reporting the same concern. Police spoke with a number of people in the area, but they weren’t able to gain more information. An area check didn’t turn up either suspects, or property damage that may have been caused by a firearms discharge. There were no reports of anyone being injured by gunshots.
This investigation is continuing. If anyone has information to add to this investigation, they are asked to call the Regina Police Service at 306-777-6500 or Regina Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). The Regina Police Service thanks the public and the media for their cooperation.
