A 22 year-old Regina male is facing a total of sixteen (16) criminal charges, some of which are related to a robbery earlier this year in Regina.
The robbery occurred on February 23, 2022, at approximately 8:00 p.m., in the 4100 block of Castle Road. Preliminary information indicated that a male with a handgun had just robbed three male victims. Police learned that the male suspect pointed the handgun at each of the victims and demanded their cellphones, as well as the keys to a car belonging to one of the victims. Fortunately, the victims were not physically hurt. The suspect left the scene in the stolen car before police arrived; an area search did not locate the stolen vehicle or the suspect, who was described only as male, approximately 5’ 7” tall, with his head and hair covered by a toque. Police did recover and return the stolen phones, and continued this investigation. In the early morning hours of Thursday, March 3, 2022, police located the stolen vehicle in the area of College Avenue and Halifax Street.
Continued investigation into the robbery led to identification of a potential suspect and evidence connecting the robbery suspect to other offences committed between January 26th and March 24, 2022. That suspect was arrested by Regina Police Service investigators on April 20, 2022, and charged.
