An adult male is charged in connection with a stolen vehicle investigation carried out by members of the Regina Police Service Stolen Auto Unit.
On Tuesday, April 19, 2022, the RPS Communication Centre received a report of a stolen Jeep that had been taken from a garage sometime between the hours of 9:30 p.m. on April 18th and 6:00 a.m. on the 19th. The vehicle, as well as a number of other items, were taken from a residence in the 4200 block of Delhaye Way. At approximately 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 19th, an investigators with the Stolen Auto Unit spotted a Jeep matching the description of the stolen one. Investigation followed which led to the recovery of the stolen Jeep, a foot chase after the suspect, and the suspect’s eventual arrest in the 4500 block of 2nd Avenue North.
Forty-six year-old Eleazar Fernandez LUSUNG, of Regina, is charged with:
- Break and Enter and Commit Theft, s. 348(1)(b) CC;
- Theft of Motor Vehicle, s. 333.1(1) CC;
- Possession of Stolen Property over $5,000, s. 355(a) CC; and
- Breach of Conditions of Release, s. 145(5)(a) CC.
LUSUNG made his first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 20, 2022.
