On April 15, 2022 at 4:16 a.m. the Regina Police Service responded to a report of a female requesting assistance in the 2300 block of Reynolds Street. Police arrived in the area and learned the female victim had been assaulted by two females and a male who had subsequently fled on foot. A police canine unit assisted on the call and tracked the suspects, leading police members to an apartment in the 400 block of College Avenue. Police located and arrested a 32 year old male, a 32 year old female and a 28 year old female. During the arrest of the 32 year old male, police discovered a sawed off rifle, a cattle prod style taser, various illegal drugs and a quantity of cash.
32 year old Michael Asfha was arrested and charged with the following:
• Assault with a weapon [267(a) CC]
• Possession of a Prohibited Firearm [91(2) CC]
• Possession of a Prohibited Weapon [91(2) CC]
• Possession of Proceeds of Crime [355(b) CC]
• Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking [5(2) CDSA] X 3
Asfha will make his first court appearance in Provincial Court on April 18, 2022 at 9:30 a.m.
32 year old Saundra Cyr and 28 year old Ramanda Sayer were arrested and charged with:
• Assault [266 CC]
Cyr and Sayer will make their first court appearance on May 31, 2022 at 9:30 a.m.
