On Saturday, March 13, 2022, at approximately 12:10am police observed a suspicious vehicle that did not have a licence plate in the area of Douglas Park. The vehicle turned into a dead end crescent and appeared as though it was going to park. Officer’s exited their police vehicle and were about to approach when the suspicious vehicle accelerated towards them. The Police Officers attempted to get back into their vehicle, however the suspicious vehicle struck the driver’s door of the police vehicle pinning one of the Officer’s legs between the door and frame of the vehicle. The suspicious vehicle managed to get by the police vehicle, striking two other parked vehicles before fleeing the area. The Officer whose leg had been pinned was fortunate to have only suffered minor injuries, however was transported to the hospital for examination. Approximately 5 minutes after the vehicle had struck the police vehicle, it was located by members of the Stolen Auto Unit. Covert surveillance was conducted and Police were able to successfully deploy tire deflation devices near Broad Street and Dewdney Avenue. A short time later, the vehicle came to a complete stop near the 500 block of Toronto Street. After approximately 40 minutes of negotiations, a 19 year old male and 19 year old female exited the vehicle and were arrested. Through investigation, it was determined the vehicle was stolen and the keys for the vehicle had been stolen from a break and enter to a garage on the early morning hours of March 12, 2022.
As a result, 19 year old Micha Vaughn Favel of Regina is charged with:

- Operate Conveyance Dangerous to Public [320.12(1)]
- Assault a Peace Officer Causing Bodily Harm [270.01(1)(b)]
- Fail to Stop After Accident that Results in Bodily Harm [320.16(2)]
- Fail to comply with Condition of Release Order [145(5)(a)]
- Failure to Stop After Accident [320.16(1)] X 2
- Theft of a Motor Vehicle [333.1(1)]
- Break and Enter and Commit [348(1)(b)]
19 year old female, Eliza Agnes Kaiswatum is charged with:
- Theft of a Motor Vehicle [333.1(1)]
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 [355 (b)]
Favel and Kaiswatum are scheduled to appear in Provincial Court on March 14, 2022 at 9:30a.m.
