Investigation is continuing into a house fire and the discovery of a deceased adult male last Thursday, (February 24th), however, it does not appear that this is a criminal investigation. Police continue to investigate, in conjunction with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service and Regina Fire and Protective Services.
This investigation began after police responded to a residence fire at about 1:52 a.m. on Thursday February 24, 2022, in the 2700 block of 10th Avenue. Officers were assisting firefighters at the scene when they were informed of the discovery of a deceased person inside the burned residence. Through investigation with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service, police confirmed the identity of the deceased male and notified his next-of-kin. Further investigation has clarified the circumstances of the death. It does not appear, at this time, that there is a criminal aspect to the fire or the death of the male resident. This investigation will continue, led by the Saskatchewan Coroners Service and assisted, as required, by the Regina Police Service.
