A 34 year-old male is facing a charge of failure to comply with a release condition that he not possess any weapons. This individual was arrested Saturday, January 29, 2022, after police were called to a weapons offence. This incident was the subject of an earlier news release regarding the use of a CEW, or Conducted Energy Weapon.
Police were dispatched at about 1:45 a.m. on Saturday, January 29, 2022, to a residence in the 1100 block of Elliot Street. The caller indicated a male who had a large knife was in her house and refusing to leave. While en route, officers confirmed the identity of the male suspect and confirmed that he was wanted on warrants for Aggravated Assault. Police were able to gain control of the suspect and found he had three large knives in his possession, contrary to the conditions of a release order. The suspect was cleared medically and then charged and remanded for court.
Thirty-four year-old Eric Philip R. STEVENS, of Regina, is charged with Fail to Comply with Condition of Release Order, section 145(5)(a) CC. STEVENS made his first court appearance on this new charge in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, January 31, 2022.
