Members of the Regina Police Stolen Auto unit recovered a stolen vehicle yesterday and took two firearms out of circulation on our streets. A 48 year-old man is facing ten charges as a result of their investigation.
At approximately 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, members of the Stolen Auto unit found a truck parked and running in the 400 block of Toronto Street. There was a male who appeared to be passed out behind the wheel. Further investigation confirmed the truck was stolen. Before police could act, the male woke up and entered a nearby house. When he exited the house a few hours later, he drove away but was taken into custody without incident a short time later. Officers arrested a 48 year-old male and in searching him, found ammunition (contrary to a prohibition order). There was also ammunition in the truck along with a loaded, sawed-off 12-gauge shotgun and a loaded, .22 calibre rifle. Police also recovered various items believed to have been stolen in a recent break and enter.
