On Sunday November 28, 2021, Regina Police Service members discharged a CEW, commonly known as a Taser, in an arrest. This advisory is in keeping with the Regina Police Service’s commitment to notify the public each time a CEW is discharged against a person.
On Sunday November 28, 2021 police attended to the area of 11 Avenue and Winnipeg Street to investigate a weapons offence. A male was located in this area and police made attempts to take the male into custody. The male was not compliant with police commands. Police deployed a CEW, which was effective in allowing the police to gain control of the male safely.
This investigation is still ongoing. Further updates will be provided once the investigation is complete.
