On Saturday, November 27, 2021, Regina Police Service members discharged a CEW, commonly known as a Taser, in an arrest. This advisory is in keeping with the Regina Police Service’s commitment to notify the public each time a CEW is discharged against a person.
On Saturday, November 27, 2021, at approximately 6:09 a.m., police attended to a business on the 1100 block of Angus Street for a complaint of male who had a knife in his hand and was refusing to vacate the premise. Police located the male, who was non-compliant to any police commands. Police deployed a CEW, which was effective in allowing police to gain control of the male safely. The male sustained minor injuries. The knife was seized.
25 year-old Trey ASAPACE, of Regina, is charged with:
- Fail to Comply with Conditions of a Release Order X 2 [145 (5)(A) c.c.],
- Possession of Weapons Dangerous [88 c.c.] and,
- Assault with a Weapon X 2 [267 c.c.]
Trey ASAPACE will make his first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court on Monday, November 29th, 2021 at 9:30 a.m.
