A 22 year-old Regina male is facing a total of ten charges in connection with two stolen trucks.
On Saturday, October 23, 2021, police were dispatched to a business in the 3700 block of Quance Street for a report of a stolen, red, Ford F350 parked at that location. The vehicle had been stolen the day before (October 22nd), from the 4500 block of Rae Street. The owner spotted his truck at the Quance Street business and, as he watched, the driver of the truck (not the owner) went inside the business. The truck’s owner used his other vehicle (a GMC Sierra) to try to block the stolen truck from leaving. The suspect allegedly rammed the Sierra, backed the Ford F350 into the business and then drove forward ramming the Sierra again before fleeing. The stolen truck hit two other vehicles in the parking lot of the business. Later that evening the stolen truck was located by police; the truck had been spray-painted silver.
The next day (October 24th) police located the suspect in a different stolen, black, Ford F350. This vehicle was kept under surveillance until a tire deflation device could be safely deployed. The truck was abandoned near Fort Street and Dewdney Avenue and a Canine track led to a residence in the 1400 block of Donald Street, where the suspect was taken into custody. Further investigation, with the help of video from the Quance Street business, allegedly links the suspect to both stolen trucks. Police learned that there was another adult and a child in the red Ford F350 at the time the vehicle rammed the business and other vehicles at the Quance Street location. The suspect was also the subject of outstanding warrants and a suspended driver. Upon completion of the investigation, the suspect was charged.
