The Regina Police Service has arrested and charged two youths in connection with a recent robbery.
On Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at about 7:15 p.m., several police units were dispatched to a report of a robbery in progress at a business in the 4700 block of Gordon Road. The preliminary investigation indicates a male, armed with what was believed to be a firearm, entered the business and pointed the gun at two employees, demanding money. The suspect received an undisclosed amount of cash and fled outside. It’s believed he got into a red vehicle, occupied by two females who had entered the business earlier. Fortunately, none of the employees were physically harmed in this incident. Investigation into this incident led to the arrest of two females on Wednesday, October 20, 2021. Further investigation led to charges against these individuals; the investigation is ongoing.
The male suspect is described as: Black, about 20-25 years old, about 6’ tall, weighing about 190 pounds, brown eyes and black hair worn in short braids or dreads with white tips. The male suspect was wearing a loose grey sweatshirt, and faded jeans.
The two females charged in connection with this incident are 14 and 16 years of age. Their names will not be released in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. Both are charged with Robbery, section 344(1)(b) CC. Both have been released to appear in Youth Court on December 6, 2021.
