The Regina Police Service is investigating a vehicle/pedestrian collision from Tuesday evening that sent one person to hospital with injuries described as serious.
Police were dispatched, at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, to the intersection of Dewdney Avenue and McIntyre Street, for a report of a collision. Preliminary investigation at the scene indicates a white Toyota Echo was travelling east-bound on Dewdney Avenue at McIntyre Street. A pedestrian was crossing Dewdney Avenue from the North-west corner of the intersection to the South-east corner. The pedestrian was struck by the Toyota in the east-bound lanes. The victim, a 44 year-old female, was transported to hospital by EMS with injuries described as serious. Several officers assisted in this incident with traffic control, collection of physical evidence from the scene, initial contact with the driver, follow-up at hospital, etc. This collision is still under investigation. No charges have been laid at this time.
