The Regina Police Service has arrested and charged a 27 year-old male from the Fort Qu’Appelle district in connection with Regina’s most recent homicide: the murder of 33 year-old Jason Bird.
The death investigation began just after 5:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 15, 2021, when members of the Regina Police Service were dispatched to the 800 block of Princess Street. An injured, adult male was found at that location. Patrol officers provided first aid to the victim until EMS arrived. The victim was then transported to the hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. On July 16th, the Regina Police Service took the lead in the homicide case. As a result of continued investigation, a suspect was identified and, on August 4, 2021, that individual was located and arrested.
Twenty-seven year-old Terrance DESNOMIE, of the Fort Qu’Appelle district, is charged with:
- First-degree Murder, section 235(1) CC;
- Possession of Stolen Property (auto), s. 355(a) CC;
- Breach of Release Order, s. 145(5) CC; and
- Possession of a Weapon for a Purpose Dangerous to Public Peace, s. 88 CC.
DESNOMIE will be remanded until his court appearance at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, August 6, 2021.
