On the afternoon of Monday, July 5, 2021, at approximately 1:15 p.m., police identified an unregistered vehicle of an unlicensed owner being driven on Broad Street. Police attempted a traffic stop and after slowing down, the vehicle drove away, turning eastbound on Broadway Avenue, evading police.
Moments later the vehicle ran a red light on Broadway Avenue and Winnipeg Street, striking a southbound vehicle on Winnipeg Street. The suspect vehicle then struck a light standard and bus shelter before coming to a stop. The suspect driver then exited the vehicle and fled on foot.
Police apprehended the suspect, a 21 year-old male, a short distance away. The male was arrested and charged.
Twenty-one year-old David Jack MOCK, of Regina, is charged with:
- Failure to Stop After Accident [CC 320.16(1)];
- Resist Arrest [CC 129(A)]; and
- 2 X Flight From Peace Officer [CC 320.170].
There were no physical injuries involved in this incident.
