Two males and a female – all adults – are charged in connection with a stolen auto investigation in the city overnight (night of June 22-23).
This investigation began when Regina Police Service members were made aware of the theft of a black Chrysler 300 that occurred on June 18th, outside of Regina. On the morning of June 22, 2021, this vehicle was briefly seen at a gas station, where it’s believed a theft of merchandise occurred. At about 6:52 p.m. the same day, an off-duty officer saw the same vehicle park in the 4600 block of Albert Street and watched three people go into a business there. On-duty members arrived and arrested two males and a female without incident. Investigation led to charges of possession of stolen property against all three. Video evidence obtained from the site of the theft/shoplifting file earlier in the day led to an additional charge against the adult female.
Twenty-nine year-old Alexis Noel JOHNSON, 26 year-old Kenneth Blaine MANITOPYES, and 25 year-old Tyson Michael LERAT, all of Regina, are jointly charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000, s. 355(a) CC.
In addition, Tyson LERAT is charged with Fail to Comply with Conditions of Release Order, s. 145(5)(a) CC.
Also, Alexis JOHNSON faces a charge of Theft under $5000 (shoplifting), s. 334(b) CC.
All three accused will make their first appearances on these charges in Provincial Court at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday (today) June 23, 2021.
