The Regina Police Service continues to receive citizen complaints of violations of the Province’s Public Health Orders, issued to curb the spread of COVID-19. Two tickets have been issued, in recent days, in two separate incidents.
At approximately 11:17 .m. on Friday, May 21, 2021, police were dispatched to the 3200 block of Green Bank Road for a complaint of a noisy gathering at a private residence. There were also complaints of vehicle parked in handicap stalls, and screaming and fighting at that address. When police arrived, they located the homeowner, as well as several other people who did not reside at that address. The homeowner was informed that he was in violation of the public health orders by participating in a private gathering with more than the number of people specified in the order.
On Tuesday (today) May 25, 2021, police were dispatched to a residence in the 1700 block of Quebec Street for another apparent breach of Public Health Orders. Police arrived and located the resident, as well as other people who did not live at that address. The resident of the household was issued a Summary Offence ticket for hosting a gathering in a private dwelling that includes people who do not reside in that dwelling.
The Regina Police Service thanks Regina residents who continue to abide by the Public Health Orders. Any reported breaches of these orders under the Public Health Act will be investigated.
