The Regina Police Service is continuing its investigation into an early-morning single vehicle collision in Regina. A 23 year-old female remains in hospital, with undisclosed injuries.
At approximately 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, police were dispatched to the service road on the north side of Victoria Avenue, where the Ring Road passes over East Victoria. The early reports indicated a Chev Malibu had struck one of the concrete supports for the overpass. When police arrived, the female driver, the lone occupant of the vehicle, was still inside the car. Officers assisted EMS and Firefighters in getting the driver out of the vehicle and into the waiting ambulance. The driver’s injuries were described as serious. Patrol members diverted traffic away from the area. Collision reconstruction experts have been at the scene taking measurements and photos, as well as gathering any physical evidence at the scene.
This investigation is ongoing. Anyone who has information that could assist police is asked to contact the Regina Police Service at 306-777-6500 or Regina Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
