The Regina Police Service, in conjunction with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service is now conducting a homicide investigation in relation to the death of an adult male last night (April 7th). This is the fifth homicide in Regina in 2021.
Police were dispatched at about 8:30 p.m., last night (April 7, 2021) to the 1500 block of Cameron Street for a report of an injured male and an altercation. Emergency Medical Services were also dispatched and determined that an adult male at the scene was deceased. There were also two other males at the scene who were injured; one of these males remains in hospital with significant injuries. Patrol members secured the scene, facilitating the work of EMS, and detaining individuals in the area, while requesting the Coroner and additional police resources for the investigation. A number of people were taken into custody. At this stage in the investigation, three persons will be facing charges.
The deceased person has been identified as 18 year-old Damione DUSTYHORN, of Regina. His family has been notified of his death and Victim Services resources have been offered.
As indicated, three persons: all adult males, will be facing charges in connection with this case. The names of the accused and the details of the charges will be announced as soon as the information is available.
