Two adults: a male and female, are facing drug-related charges after successful investigation into an allegation of illegal drug trafficking.
On Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at about 10:11 p.m., patrol officers were dispatched to a business in the 4000 block of Albert Street. It was alleged there were three people at that location in possession of illegal drugs, knives and a gun. Several officers responded and took two people into custody without incident. The third suspect was not located. A search warrant was obtained for the premises and quantities of drugs, later confirmed to be fentanyl and methamphetamine were recovered, along with paraphernalia associated to drug trafficking. There was no firearm found, but a knife was recovered nearby. The male and female suspects were charged. This investigation is ongoing.
Thirty-eight year-old Amanda Lynn ARCAND and 41 year-old Sean Nathaniel AMON, both of Regina, are charged with:
– Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (methamphetamine) [5(2) CC]; and
– Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (fentanyl) [5(2) CC].
Amanda ARCAND is facing an additional charge of Possession of a Scheduled Substance (fentanyl) [4(1) CDSA].
Both ARCAN and AMON will make their first court appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 2:00 p.m. today (Wednesday, March 24th).
