The Regina Police Service is now able to release the name of the victim in what has become Regina’s fourth homicide of 2021. Police have also made an arrest in connection with this case.
The victim is 45 year-old Lawrence Robert GODFREY, of Vibank Saskatchewan. His family has been notified of his death and has been referred to RPS Victim Services, which will act as support and a liaison to the investigators and other resources.
On Sunday, March 7, 2021 at 4:18 a.m., police were dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of St. John Street for a report of an injured male. Emergency Medical Services were also dispatched, but the male was beyond help and pronounced deceased at the scene. The Coroner was called to the scene, along with Forensic Identification and Major Crimes investigators. It was soon determined that the death would be investigated as a homicide case. Continued investigation resulted in the arrest of a male suspect on Sunday, March 7, 2021.
Investigation is ongoing and charges are pending the outcome of further investigation. More details will be released as soon as they are available.
