A 54 year-old male has been arrested and charged in connection with a homicide that occurred on the weekend in Regina. The victim, 32 year-old Justin Robert DELORME, is the third victim of homicide in Regina in 2021.
Officers were dispatched, at about 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, February 21, 2021, to a residence in the 1000 block of Garnet Street. The early information received indicated there was an injured adult male at that address. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) was also dispatched and transported the male to hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. Officers secured the scene and requested the involvement of the Coroner and other investigative units. Notification was made to the family of the victim.
Investigation into this incident led to the arrest of a 54 year-old Regina male, who is now charged in connection with DELORME’s death.
Fifty-four year-old Charles Wayne TAYPOTAT, of Regina, is charged with Second-Degree Murder, contrary to section 235(1) CC. TAYPOTAT made his first court appearance on the charge in Provincial Court at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 22, 2021.
