Two adult males and an adult female are facing numerous firearms-related charges as the result of a traffic stop and investigation on Wednesday, February 17th.
This incident began around 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 17, 2021, when officers on regular night patrol spotted a vehicle thought to be associated with an “evade police” incident the night before. After comparing vehicle descriptions, the officers conducted a traffic stop in the 3500 block of 5th Avenue. While speaking with the driver and two passengers, one of the officers saw the barrel of a shotgun protruding from under a seat. All three persons were taken into custody and further queries showed all three were prohibited from possessing firearms. A search of the vehicle located a sawed-off rifle, a 12-gauge shotgun, ammunition and a large knife. Further investigation led to numerous charges against all three suspects.
Twenty three year-old Koletyn Blaze CREELEY, of Regina, 26 year-old Wyatt Reeve BRITTON, of Regina, and 36 year-old Violet Elizabeth BELLEGARDE, of Fort Qu’Appelle, are all jointly charged with:
- 2 X Careless Storage of Firearm [86(2) CC];
- 3 X Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose [88 CC];
- 2 X Carrying Concealed Weapon [90 CC];
- Carrying Concealed Prohibited Device or Ammunition [90 CC];
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized [92(1) CC];
- 2 X Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Vehicle [94(1) CC]; and
- 2 X Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition [95(1)(a) CC].
Koletyn Blaze CREELEY is also charged with 2 X Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order [117.01(1) CC], and Breach of Probation [733.1(1) CC].
Wyatt Reeve BRITTON is also charged with 2 X Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order [117.01(1) CC], Fail to Comply with Release Order [145(5)(a) CC]; and Breach of Probation [733.1(1) CC].
Violet Elizabeth BELLEGARDE is also charged with Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order [117.01(1) CC].
All three accused persons made their first appearances on these charges in Provincial Court at 2:00 p.m. (yesterday) Wednesday, February 17, 2021.
