A 34 year-old male is facing charges after a shooting last night.
On Wednesday, January 27, 2021, at approximately 8:45 p.m. police were dispatched to hospital for a report of a male who had been shot. Early information suggested the male had arrived at the hospital suffering from a gunshot wound. He was treated immediately by hospital staff and at this time, the victim’s injuries are described as non-life threatening.
As a result of police investigation, officers attended to a residence in the 1400 block of Cameron Street where the shooting was believed to have taken place. Police located a firearm and ammunition at the residence. Investigation also led to the arrest of a male suspect. The suspect appears to have been the victim of an assault, which still remains under investigation by police. As a result:
Thirty-four year-old Julian Dennis RUNNS, of Regina, has been charged with:
- Attempted Murder [CC 239];
- Possession of A Prohibited/Restricted Weapon Knowing Possession is Unauthorized [CC 92 (2)];
- 6 X Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order [CC 117.01 (1)].
RUNNS will make his first appearance on the charges in Provincial Court this afternoon (January 28, 2021) at 2:00 p.m.
