The Regina Police Service has issued another ticket under the Saskatchewan Health Act for violation of the Public Health Orders concerning COVID-19.
At approximately 7:40 p.m., on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, police officers were dispatched to the downtown area to locate a 52 year-old male, who has tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. The information received by police indicated the male was aware of his COVID-positive status but had left his accommodation and was refusing to self-isolate as required under the current Public Health Orders. Officers located the individual in the area of 13th Avenue and Albert Street. He was issued a $2800. ticket and escorted back to his place of residence.
This is the ninth ticket issued by the Regina Police Service, since March, 2020, for contravention of Public Health Orders issued in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic.
