Police have arrested and charged a 43 year-old Regina male with impaired driving and evade police charges after an incident late last night (Wednesday).
At approximately 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 16, 2020. Police were dispatched to what was described as dangerous driving in progress, in the area of McCarthy Boulevard and Dewdney Avenue. A caller watched a Chev Impala weaving into both driving lanes and running two red lights. The driver was the only occupant of the car. Within a short time, a police unit had the Impala in view and initiated a traffic stop by activating emergency equipment. The vehicle initially stopped and then sped away. A second traffic stop was also unsuccessful, when the driver again evaded police. In all, it’s alleged the driver proceeded illegally through nine red lights and six stop signs before he eventually got stuck and was arrested without further incident. Upon further investigation, the male driver was charged.
Forty-three year-old Preston Dean BOWMAN, of Regina, is charged with:
- Impaired Operation of a Conveyance by alcohol or drug [320.14(1)(a) CC];

- Flight from Peace Officer [320.17 CC]; and
- Obstruct Peace Officer [129(a) CC].
BOWMAN was released on an Undertaking to appear in Provincial Court on April 12, 2021.
