The Regina Police Service Street Gang Unit began an investigation in late November into illegal firearms trafficking. On December 4, 2020 as a result of that investigation, two separate search warrants were authorized and subsequently executed involving a vehicle and a residence located in the 1500 block of Rae Street. A search of both the vehicle and the residence resulted in the seizure of two firearms, ammunition and illicit drugs, including fentanyl. Three people were charged in this investigation.
Forty one year-old Larry James OLSON, of Regina, has been charged with:
- 3 X Possession of A Weapon [CC 88];
- Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon [CC 91 (2)];
- 2 X Careless Use of Firearm [CC 86 (1)];
- 2 X Possession of a Firearm Knowing It’s Possession Is Unauthorized [CC 92 (1)];
- 2 X Possession of a Firearm, Prohibited or Restricted Weapon Obtained By Crime [CC 96 (1)].
Forty-two year-old Ryan Lloyd STEWART, of Regina, has been charged with:
- Possession of A Weapon [CC 88];
- Careless Use of Firearm [CC 86 (1)];
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing It’s Possession Is Unauthorized [CC 92 (1)];
- Possession of a Firearm, Prohibited or Restricted Weapon Obtained By Crime [CC 96 (1)].
Thirty-seven year-old Kristen Ashley ALLARD, of Regina, has been charged with:
- Possession of A Weapon [CC 88];
- Careless Use of Firearm [CC 86 (1)];
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing It’s Possession Is Unauthorized [CC 92 (1)];
- Possession of a Firearm, Prohibited or Restricted Weapon Obtained By Crime [CC 96 (1)]
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition Contrary To Prohibition Order [CC 117.01 (1)].
OLSON, STEWART and ALLARD will all make their first court appearances on these charges in Provincial Court on Monday, December 7, 2020 at 9:30 a.m.
