A 22 year-old female and a 30 year-old male are facing charges in connection with a stolen auto incident in the early morning hours of Monday, November 16th.
At approximately 2:53 a.m., Monday, November 16, 2020, police were dispatched to the area of 3rd Avenue and Robinson Street. Another officer had a suspicious vehicle in view and was requesting a traffic stop by patrol. The patrol members located the car: a grey Subaru Forrester, and were able to discern most of the license plate. Believing it to be a vehicle that was reported stolen on November 12th, the officers worked with the plainclothes unit to maintain an eye on the vehicle. At times the Subaru was being driven in an unsafe manner. Police attempted to use a spikebelt to stop the vehicle, but it was only partially successful as the driver took evasive action. The vehicle came to a stop in the area of Rootman Avenue and Cavendish Street. The vehicle was confirmed to be the stolen auto from November 12th. Police safely took a female into custody and learned she was the subject of a court-ordered curfew and outstanding warrants. A male was also taken into custody as he emerged from the vehicle. Both individuals were charged in connection with this incident.
Thirty year-old Dustin Martin Lyle MORIN, and 22 year-old Tyra Jade CRANE, both of Regina, are jointly charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000 [355(a) CC].
Dustin MORIN is also charged with Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance [320.13(1) CC].
Tyra CRANE is also charged with Breach of Condition of Release Order [145(5)(a) CC].
Both accused persons made their first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 16, 2020.
