Two adults – a 24 year-old male and an 18 year-old female – are facing charges in connection with a stolen auto incident earlier this week.
On November 3, 2020, at about 11:20 a.m., the Regina Police Service Communication Centre received a report of vehicle stolen from the 2600 block of Robinson Street. (unlocked, keys in ignition) The vehicle was a blue 2005 Santa Fe. Within a short time, members of the stolen auto unit spotted the vehicle and kept it under surveillance until they could safely arrest a male driver and female passenger. A searchof the female suspect yielded a substance believed to be fentanyl. Further investigation led to charges against both for theft and possession of the stolen vehicle. The female was also charged with possession of a controlled substance.
Twenty-four year-old Anthony Gary MACHISKINIC and 18 year-old Braeden PETERS (female), both of Regina, are charged with:
- Theft of Motor Vehicle [333.1(1) CC]; and
- Possession of Stolen Property under $5,000 [355(b) CC].
Anthony Gary MACHISKINIC also faces a Breach of a Release Order [145(5)(a) CC].
Braeden PETERS is also charged with Possession of a Scheduled Substance (fentanyl) [4(1) CDSA].
Both accused were in Provincial Court on these charges at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 4, 2020.
