Two female youths, ages 12 and 13, are facing a charge of Arson in connection with a fire at the playground of a Regina elementary school.
At approximately 9:56 p.m. on Monday, November 2, 2020, police were dispatched to assist Regina Fire and Protective Services at the scene of a suspicious fire at a Regina school playground on Davin Crescent. Police spoke with individuals at the scene and opened an investigation into the fire. On Tuesday, November 3rd, police learned of a potential suspect and then identified a second suspect in the fire. Two female youths were taken into custody and, upon further investigation, were charged.
The youths cannot be named in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The 12 and 13 year-old are facing a charge of Arson. The two will make their first court appearances on these charges in Youth Court at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 4, 2020.
