Search Warrant Executed: Drugs & Firearms Seized

Four individuals are facing charges as the result of an ongoing investigation by the Regina Police Service Street Gang Unit.

On Friday, September 4, 2020 at approximately 11:30 a.m., members of the Regina Police Service Street Gang Unit, with assistance from members of Patrol, executed a search warrant on a residence in the 1200 block of Athol Street. Four individuals were taken into police custody from the residence. During a search of the residence, investigators located a quantity of what is believed to be fentanyl, a quantity of what is believed to be methamphetamine, multiple cartons of illegal cigarettes, numerous cell phones, a sum of Canadian currency, drug trafficking paraphernalia, multiple firearms and a Taser.

As a result: 45 year-old Scott Brent BERGE, of Regina, and 49 year-old Danika KAESER-BERNARD, of Regina, have each been charged with:

• 5 X Careless Storage of A Firearm [CC 86 (1)];
• 5 X Possession of A Weapon For A Dangerous Purpose [CC 88];
• 4 X Unauthorized Possession of A Firearm [CC 92 (1)];
• 4 X Possession of A Weapon Obtained By Commission of Offence [CC 96 (1)];
• 2 X Possession of a Prohibited Firearm With Ammunition [CC 95 (1)(B)];
• Possession of Proceeds Obtained By Crime [CC 455 (B)];
• Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Fentanyl) [CDSA 5 (2)];
• Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Methamphetamine) [CDSA 5 (2)].

In addition, Scott Brent BERGE is also facing charges of

• Breach of Probation [CC 733.1 (1)];
• Breach of Undertaking [CC 145 (3)].

Danika KAESER-BERNARD is also facing an additional charge of:

• Breach of Undertaking [CC 145 (5)].

Twenty year-old Spencer BERNARD, of Regina, and 18 year-old Anika Brigit Dawn BURNS, of Regina, have each been charged with:

• Possession of A Weapon For A Dangerous Purpose [CC 88];
• Possession of Proceeds Obtained By Crime [CC 455 (B)];
• Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Fentanyl) [CDSA 5 (2)];
• Tobacco Act [8(1)];
• Selling of Tobacco Products/Raw Leaf Tobacco [CC 121.1] (Excise Act 2001(32)).

BERGE, KAESER-BERNARD, BURNS and BERNARD will all make their first court appearances on these charges on Tuesday, September 8, 2020.
