On Friday, August 28, 2020, police were dispatched to a convenience store on 9th Avenue N for the report of a robbery. Information was four to five masked suspects had stolen the victim’s belongings and left in a vehicle.
Investigation led to the a residence on the 700 block of Athol Street, where canine members located the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle is believed to have fled on foot; while three occupants were arrested by police. A search of the occupants and vehicles revealed masks, bladed weapons, brass knuckles, a loaded firearm, and substances believed to be methamphetamine and fentanyl.
Twenty-six year-old Austin Dylan Cole MORIN, 24 year-old Marlon Roland WHITEHAWK, and 22 year-old Justice Rae-Lyn MORIN, all of Regina, are jointly charged with:
- Possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking (methamphetamine) [CDSA 5(2)];
- Possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking (fentanyl) [CDSA 5(2)];
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime [CC 355(B)]; and
Austin MORIN is also charged with:
- Possession of a weapon [CC 88].
Justice MORIN is also charged with:
- Possession of a weapon [CC 88].
WHITEHAWK is also charged with
- Fail to comply with probation order [CC 733.1(1)].
The three charged made their first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court on Monday, August 31, 2020, at 9:30 a.m.
