A 49 year-old male is facing a charge of Impaired Driving Causing Bodily Harm after a four-vehicle collision yesterday in Regina.
At approximately 7:57 a.m. on Tuesday, August 11, 2020, police were dispatched to a collision at the corner of Broad Street and Saskatchewan Drive. In all, there were four vehicle involved. Investigation into the collision indicates a GMC Acadia was northbound on Broad Street in the right hand driving lane, when it rear-ended a Honda CR-V and then struck a Ford van. The CR-V was pushed forward into a Mitsubishi Lancer as a result of the initial impact. A 19 year-old female, who was a passenger in the Honda, was injured in the collision and taken to hospital by EMS. EMS and firefighters removed the driver from the GMC Acadia. There was evidence indicating potential drug use; the driver was administered emergency first aid, and then transported to hospital for assessment before he was taken to police headquarters. Subsequent investigation led to a charge against the driver of the GMC Acadia.
Forty-nine year-old Charlton Rye LAVALLEE of the Grenfell District, has been charged with Impaired Operation of a Conveyance by Drug, Alcohol or a Combination, Causing Bodily Harm [320.14(2) CC]. LAVALLEE made his first court appearance on the charge in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2020.
