A 48 year-old male has been charged with uttering threats after allegedly leaving threatening voice-mail messages at the Legislative office of the Premier.
The Regina Police Service became involved in this investigation on August 10, 2020, after being alerted by the RCMP* to a series of phone voice-mail messages, made to the Premier’s Legislative office, on August 8th. The content of the messages was sufficiently concerning to prompt further investigation. The Premier, aware of the phone messages, continued with his pre-arranged schedule, with appropriate security. On Monday, August 10, 2020, Regina Police Service investigators learned of another incident on August 8, 2020, in which similar threatening phone messages were left with a non-government agency. On August 10th, at about 2:45 p.m., police located a 48 year-old male believed responsible for the threatening phone calls. The male was arrested and subsequently charged.
Forty-eight year-old Ernest R. MILLER, of Regina, is charged with Uttering Threats [264.1(1)(A)CC]. MILLER was released on an Undertaking to appear in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on September 2, 2020.
