A 24 year-old male is charged with Attempted Murder after investigation into a weekend incident, which resulted in the hospitalization of a seven year-old child.
On Saturday, August 8, 2020, at approximately 4:26 a.m., police were dispatched to the area of Brotherton Avenue and Cavendish Street for an “assist citizen” call. A taxi driver reported he had come across a young girl, outside a business, who was bleeding from the head. There did not appear to be any adults accompanying the child, who was without shoes or a jacket. Police located the cab, where the driver had given the young victim shelter. Through investigation, it was determined the child lived in the 0-99 block of Cavendish Street. She was taken to hospital by EMS for her injuries. It is anticipated the victim will recover fully. Police went to the address in question and located an adult male, who was trying to leave the residence. After further investigation the male was arrested and charged in connection with this incident. It should be noted that the accused male is not a stranger to the victim or victim’s family, and is alleged to be in violation of a court order prohibiting contact with the residents at that address.
Twenty-four year-old Greg Joshua BRITTAIN, of Regina, is charged with:
- Attempted Murder [239 CC]; and
- Fail to Comply [145(4)(a) CC.
