On April 8, 2026, at approximately 1:00 p.m., police were dispatched to the 3600 block of East Haughton Road following a report of a stolen vehicle.
Police received updated location information regarding the vehicle, which assisted officers in locating a vehicle matching the description travelling northbound on Woodland Grove. Police attempted to initiate a traffic stop; however, the driver failed to comply and continued driving.
A short time later, the vehicle was observed travelling eastbound on Arcola Avenue, where it pulled over. The driver then exited the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot. Officers quickly took the suspect into custody without incident at approximately 1:30 p.m. As a result of this investigation,
Twenty-eight year-old Donnell THOMPSON, is charged with:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000 [CC 355(A)];
- Impaired Operation of a Conveyance by Alcohol or a Drug or Combination [CT 320.14(1)(A)];
- Exceeds 80 mg of Alcohol within 2 Hours of Operating Conveyance [CT 320.14(1)(B)];
- Theft of Motor Vehicle [CC 333.1(1)];
- Flight from Peace Officer [CT 320.17]; and
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order [CC 733.1(1)].
THOMPSON will his make his first appearance on these charges in Regina Provincial Court on April 29, 2026.
