The Regina Police Service is proud to announce the promotion of Laurel Marshall to the rank of Deputy Chief. D/Chief Marshall brings an impressive 27+ years of service to the community with the Regina Police Service.
D/Chief Marshall started her policing career with the Regina Police Service in 1998. Since then, she has worked in both uniform and investigative divisions of the service. Most recently, she led the Regina Police Service Investigative Services Division (ISD), which includes the Regina Integrated Intelligence Unit, Major Crimes and Vulnerable Persons, and the Drugs, Gangs & Firearms Sections.
In addition to her recent work in ISD, D/Chief Marshall has served in the Community Services Division (Patrol and other uniformed areas), Support Services Division (Emergency Services, Specialty Teams, Detention Unit and Communications Centre) and the Headquarters Unit.
Over the course of her career, Deputy Chief Marshall’s passion for teaching led her to instructing Defensive Tactics, Firearms, and providing training to recruits as they transitioned from police college to the patrol car. Her past experience on the RPS Critical Incident Stress Management Team (CISM) and Peer Support Team continues to fuel her commitment to support the health and wellness of RPS employees.
D/Chief Marshall was on the founding board of directors for Saskatchewan Women in Policing (SWIP) and is now a member of the SWIP Advisory Board. When she is not at work, Deputy Chief Marshall is actively giving back to the community through coaching hockey and volunteering with KidSport Regina and the Regina Sports Hall of Fame. She also volunteers as one of the Lieutenant Governor’s Aides-de-Camp, assisting the Lieutenant Governor in the performance of their duties and ensuring protocol is followed. Deputy Chief Marshall has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from the University of Regina. She is a detail-oriented, people-first leader who will contribute greatly to the work of the Regina Police Service. She is honoured to serve the citizens of her hometown.
Deputy Chief Marshall assumes the role following the promotion of Lorilee Davies to Chief of Police in late 2025.
