A 16 year-old male is facing a number of charges including Second-Degree Murder in relation to a homicide that occurred on November 1, 2025.
Shortly before 1:00 a.m. on November 1, 2025, police were dispatched to a residence in the 1000 block of 12th Avenue. Upon arrival, police located a 19 year-old male who was the victim of a gunshot wound. EMS declared the male deceased on scene. The name of the victim will not be released at the request of the family.
The 16 year-old male suspect, who cannot be named in keeping with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with:
- Second-Degree Murder [CC 235 (1)];
- Possession of a Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order [CC117.01(1)];and
- Fail to Comply With Conditions of an Undertaking [CC 145 (4)(A)].
The youth will make his first appearance on these charges in Regina Provincial Youth Court tomorrow morning (November 10, 2025) at 9:30 a.m.
Two others were also charged in relation to this ongoing investigation.
Forty-four year-old Trevor WHITEQUILL is charged with:
- Accessory After the Fact to Murder [CC 240];
WHITEQUILL will make his first appearance on this charge in Regina Provincial Court tomorrow morning (November 10, 2025) at 9:30 a.m.
A 17 year-old female, who cannot be named in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act is charged with:
- Accessory After the Fact to Murder [CC 240];
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing it’s Possession is Unauthorized [CC 92.1]; and
- Possession of a Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order [CC117.01(1)].
The 17 year-old female will make her first appearance on this charge in Regina Provincial Youth Court tomorrow morning (November 10, 2025) at 9:30 a.m.
At this time, the investigation is ongoing. This is the eleventh homicide in Regina in 2025.
