Beginning at 9:30 a.m. this morning, (Thursday, July 24, 2025), the Regina Police Service SWAT team will be on site outside the Regina General Hospital (RGH) for a training exercise. The training will include rappel work. Those in the area may see officers on top of and around the building. Multiple police vehicle will also be parked in the area.
This training location is a healthcare facility. As such, members of the media and the public are required to refrain from taking pictures and filming this training. The air space above and around the RGH is completely restricted in order to ensure the safety of the operation of the STARS helicopter. Please do not operate drones in or near this area. This includes the safety of the staff, patients and those in the area.
Consistent, collaborative training with our community partners and stakeholders is important to ensure everyone is prepared and knows what their role is in the case of a real emergency. We thank the Regina General Hospital, the Saskatchewan Health Authority and our many other community partners for working with us to help keep our community safe.
