The Regina Police Service will be conducting a joint training exercise today, Wednesday, May 21, 2025, involving members of the Aerial Support Unit (ASU) and the Canine Unit.
This day-long training will focus on improving coordination between ground and air teams through a series of realistic scenarios designed to enhance public safety response capabilities. Training will begin at 10:00 a.m., with the first scenario starting at 1:00 p.m. Scenarios should be concluded around 7:00 p.m.
While this is a closed training session not open to public or media, residents may notice increased police presence in certain areas this afternoon:
- Lakewood
- Eastview (1200 block of Elliot)
- 1st Avenue North and Winnipeg Street
- Fleet and Ross Avenue
People in these areas may hear sirens. These activities are part of routine training and there is no cause for concern.
The Regina Police Service thanks the media and the public for their understanding and continued support as we conduct this important training.
