Two people are facing charges following a traffic stop that took place over the weekend.
On Friday, March 7, 2025, at approximately 7:50 p.m., police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of 8th Avenue and McIntosh Street. During the traffic stop, it was learned the driver had a suspended license and the passenger was in breach of conditions.
Following this discovery, the two occupants of the vehicle were arrested. A search of the vehicle and persons, subsequent to the arrest revealed the following:
- Items consistent with drug trafficking
- A Conducted Energy Weapon
- Two knives
- Approximately 187 grams of Cocaine
- Approximately 120 grams of Methamphetamine
- Open alcohol
- Three cartons of cigarettes
As a result of this investigation, 28 year-old Cain CRAWFORD, of Regina, is charged with:
- 2 x Trafficking of a Scheduled Substance [CDSA 5(1)];
- 2 x Fail to Comply with Conditions of a Release Order [CC 145(5)(A)];
- Unauthorized possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon [CC 92(2)];
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime [CC 355(B)].
Thirty-one year-old Tawnya DEAL, of Regina, is also charged with:
- 2 x Trafficking of a Scheduled Substance [CDSA 5(1)];
- Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon [CC 92(2)];
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime [CC 355(B)].
The accused made their first appearance on these charges in Regina Provincial Court this morning, March 10, 2025 at 9:30 a.m.
