On Friday, December 27, 2024, at approximately 4:00 p.m., police were dispatched to a residence in the zero block of Pine Place for the report of a weapons offence. Information received was that a male inside the residence might have access to a firearm.
Police attended the scene and arrested the suspect without incident. A search of the residence revealed a modified airsoft gun, ammunition, a conducted energy weapon, items consistent with drug trafficking, and personal identity documents not belonging to the suspect. As a result of this investigation, 27 year-old Kaj Storm SPARVIER, of Regina is charged with:
- Possession of Firearm / Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order [CC 117.01(1)] X8;
- Unauthorized possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon [CC 91(2)]; and
- Possession of an Identity Document [CC 56.1(1)]; and
- Possession of a Scheduled Substance (Methamphetamine) for the Purpose of Trafficking [CDSA 5(2)]
The accused made their first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court this morning, Monday, December 30, 2024 at 9:30 a.m.
