On Friday, November 15, 2024 police were dispatched to Higgins Bay for a report of a weapons offence. Information received was that a female was assaulted by three people. Police arrived to learn that the victim was approached by three people, two males and a female, who threatened her with a knife and firearm. The suspects then fled with the victim’s belongings.
Police located and arrested the two males in the area of Higgins Bay and Lloyd Crescent. A search of the males revealed a knife, a firearm, and ammunition. The female youth also involved in the robbery was also located nearby and found to be in breach of conditions.
Ninteen year-old Seth Keane-Terrance Riley MAXIE, of Regina, is charged with:
- Carry Concealed Weapon [CC 90];
- Possession of Firearm Knowing Its Possession Unauthorized [CC 92(1)];
- 2 X Possession of Firearm/Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order [CC 117.01(1)];
- Armed Robbery Using A Restricted Firearm [CC 344(1)(A)]; and
- Fail to Comply with Release Order [CC 145(5)(A)].
A 17 year-old male youth, who will not be named in keeping with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with:
- Possession of a Prohibited Firearm With Ammunition [CC 95(1)(A)];
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm [CC 91(1)];
- 2 X Carry Concealed Weapon [CC 90]; and
- Armed Robbery Using A Restricted Firearm [CC 344(1)(A)].
A 17 year-old female youth, who will not be named in keeping with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with:
- Robbery [CC 344(1)(B)]; and
- Fail to Comply [YCJA 137].
Both MAXIE and the male youth made their first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court and Provincial Youth Court respectively this morning, Monday, November 18, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. The female youth makes her first appearance on these charges in Provincial Youth Court on Thursday, January 2, 2025.
