Two males, aged 24 and 17, are facing charges of second-degree murder in relation to a homicide that occurred over the weekend. This is Regina’s first homicide of 2024.
At approximately 1:50 p.m. on Sunday, May 12, 2024, police were dispatched to a residence on the 4800 block of Sherwood Drive for the report of a firearms offense. Initial information indicated that there was a male on a driveway that had been shot. Police and EMS attended and located a male with serious injuries. The victim, a 22 year-old male, was transported to the hospital but succumbed to injury.
Officers secured the immediate area and requested the additional resources of the Major Crimes and Forensic Identification units, as well as the Coroner.
The victim was identified and next of kin was notified. The victim is 22 year-old Everett Wolfe ROBERTS-ORR, of Regina.
Investigation led to the identities of two males who were arrested and charged.
Twenty-four year-old Isaiah James DUSTYHORN of Regina is charged with the following:
- Second-Degree Murder [CC 235(1)].
A 17 year-old youth, who cannot be named in keeping with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with the following:
- Second-Degree Murder [CC 235(1)]; and
- Fail to Comply [137 YCJA].
DUSTYHORN is scheduled to make his first court appearance on this charge in Provincial Court today, Monday, May 13, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. The youth will make his first appearance on these charges in Provincial Youth Court at the same time.
