On Sunday, April 7, 2024, at approximately 2:50 p.m., police were dispatched to the 1200 block of Cameron Street for the report of a weapons offence.
Police arrived and learned that a group had approached a resident demanding a firearm they claimed to have lost in the area. One of these people had threatened the resident with a knife. The resident went inside and called police, and the group fled.
Police arrived and recovered what is believed to be the missing firearm and ammunition. An area search located the group, all of whom were apprehended except for one male who ran from police. The male was apprehended by the Regina Police Service Canine Unit. The 25 year-old male was found to be in possession of prohibited brass knuckles, and a hunting knife believed to be used in the aforementioned threatening. The male was also found to be in breach of conditions of probation.
Twenty-five year-old Colin Manuel SEVERIGHT, of Regina, is charged with:
- 2 X Carry Concealed Weapon [CC 90];
- Fail to Comply With Probation Order [CC 733.1(1)];
- 3 X Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order [CC 117.01(1)];
- Careless Storage of Firearm [CC 86(2)];
- Possession of a Prohibited/Restricted Firearm Obtained by Crime [CC 96(1)];
- Resist Arrest [CC 129(A)];
- Possession of a Loaded Firearm [CC 95(1)]; and
- Assault with a Weapon [CC 267(A)].
SEVERIGHT made his first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court this morning, April 8, 2024, at 9:30 a.m.
