ARSON SUSPECT ARRESTED
A 31 year-old male is facing charges following an arson that took place on February 9, 2024.
Regina Fire and Protective Services was called to a church in the 2000 block of Scarth Street shortly before 4:00 a.m., for a report of a fire at one of the entrances to the building. Fire crews were able to quickly extinguish the blaze and determined it was intentionally set.
Fire investigators reached out to police who began an arson investigation. Over the past seven days, officers have been investigating, including reviewing security video from the area. As a result, officers were able to identify and locate a suspect.
At approximately 7:50 p.m., last night (Saturday, February 16, 2023), 31 year-old Jordan WILLET was arrested. WILLET is charged with:
Arson with Disregard for Human Life [433 )(A)];
Disguise with Intent [351(2)]; and
2 x Fail to Comply with Probation Order [733.1(1)].
